A tall mast lighting is a tall pole with the top lighting pointing towards the ground and is usually, but not always, used to illuminate highways or recreational areas. It is used where large areas of lighting are required. The poles on which lighting is installed are typically at least 30 m (98 ft) high (hereafter referred to as conventional lighting systems),[1] Equipment is installed around it. Most units have four, six or eight lights in the ring, and in rare cases three, five, ten, twelve and sixteen lights are used.
